Takes my breath away!

Hi have just joined. Am trying to get fit again in my 60s after several years of being a carer. Found week one brilliant and exhilarating but just back from week 2 run 1 in strong wind and found it incredibly hard. Hoping it'll get easier as I get fitter! Inspired to keep going by all the success stories here!

Well done on starting to run, the runs may not always feel easier, and you will have good and 'bad' runs, but you will soon be amazed at how far you can actually run. I'm 63 and was pretty unfit, I started a couple of months ago, and have had to repeat a couple of weeks but the important bit is not to give up. I'm due to run week 8 run 1 later today. When I began I never thought I could run for 25 minutes non-stop. Sometimes its more of a mental struggle than a physical one, but keep going, the benefits both mentally and physically are enormous!

Excellent! Running in the wind is perhaps the hardest

Keep going, very slowly, and you’ll be fine 😃

Hello and welcome 😃😃😃

There's lots of us in the same age group, and probably just as unfit, or worse, when we started. Everyone gets a tough run sometimes for no obvious reason. I struggled this morning and the weather here isn't too bad so I can't blame that. 😟

If next time is a struggle repeat, after everyone on the forum, "Slow down". 🐌🐢🐌

Wow! Your 4th run in this storm? You’re certainly determined! The programme is tough and that wind will only make it harder, so running is gonna be a struggle for lots of people today. Very well done getting through the session!

The first few weeks are the toughest because they put demands on your body that it hasn't experienced for years! :) While the programme continually stretches you, you will find that your body learns to cope with those demands as you get further through the weeks. For the first few weeks, I suggest you just listen to the coach's instructions, do exactly as you're told and take it slow and steady. If you do that you'll sail through! Good luck and keep going. :)

Sometimes you just have a harder day for no reason. Stick with it, it will get easier and it’s definitely worth it! Good luck!
