Please take away my graduate :(

I graduated in 2016. Lost over 50 pounds and was doing fantastic. Then last year I had a very hard time and wound up stopping running, and gaining all of it back. I've been very down, I don't feel comfortable in my own skin...Now, after having recovered from major surgery, I am hoping to get the go-ahead from my doctor to get back to running next week. I need to start from scratch. Week 1, Run 1. So, I think I need to re-earn my graduate title.

Nooo! Just because you stopped running doesn't lessen your achievement from first time round! You can do it again 😀

Still a well earned badge that's yours to keep. Good luck.

The good thing is, you know you can do it this time around. Also, you are back on here and you are going to get back out and run again. Good for you! Welcome back, and keep us updated with your progress. You will be fine. Happy running :)

You managed it before and can do it again...my second time too, just take as long as it needs. Good luck!

You'll find it easier this time round because you know the ropes.

Welcome back 🙂 It sounds as if you've been through it but you've come out the other side. Your body will remember what to do and the support here is still fabulous 🙂

So you got your Masters and if you do it all over again after everything you’ve been through it’s definitely going to be a C25k PHD you deserve x

Once a graduate, always a graduate! Just a bit of revision needed. Take a degree and they don't take away your pass because you don't use it in work. Just go for it and get back into the fold.

Like you I too stopped running firstly due to family commitments in early 2017and then I had foot surgery in October. My surgeon told me I could start running again in January if I had no problems. But I was a wee bit apprehensive and kept putting it off, I eventually bit the bullet and got started 1st February. I started at the beginning with the lovely Laura at week one, and tomorrow will be my second run of week eight. Ok, I have done my runs on my treadmill but I’ve got going again and I know I can do it So when this beastly weather is over I have the confidence to get out there. But it doesn’t matter how you do it or how long it takes you are doing it for you no one else. So no more talk of giving up your well earned graduation, you’ve done it once and you CAN do it again so don’t be hard on yourself, just take it slow and steady one run at a time and feel good as you complete each one. Keep us posted on how you’re doing we are all here for you . Happy running and keep smiling

It’s not re-earn, just improve upon. Just remember all those bits you learnt last time that made you a good runner. You have to rebuild muscle strength and endurance perhaps, but all those other things that you learnt from your experiences, they are still there. Shoulders back to benefit breathing. Head lifted, looking forward. Elbows tucked in, land mid foot.

Debatable whether knowing what is coming is a help or hindrance, but you beat all the mental gremlins last time, that must help with beating perhaps different ones on this journey. I almost feel like joining you on the repeat journey. Having the opportunity to start again knowing what you know now. Wonderful! Enjoy it!
