I hope it be third time lucky for you allieaddey, I cycle a lot during the summer months and now run alot as well, however, I don't cycle during the winter months, instead I go long walks and during the last few years have taken up exercises like yoga etc. As far as running is concerned, weather permitting I'll keep on running as much as possible during the winter, you could consider joining a gym.

You can run through most UK winters, although snow and ice are not recommended surfaces.

Many of us have cross training regimes for rest days, so those can continue, whether in the home, the pool or in the gym.

We can all only do what we can comfortably, safely and happily do......life and weather sometimes gets in the way, but maintaining the habit is important.

Mobile and taser and don’t fall on your bum! Or treadmill with someone dangling a big fat cake in front of you😂😂😂😂

No dont mention the S word , hate the bloomimg stuff .. some carry on running no matter the conditions , ice and snow are definitely more hazardous .. staying safe and healthy is the main driver

You should be ok for graduation in November unless we are very unlucky.

I'm in Canada and ran in the "spring" this year which involved quite a bit of snow, wasn't bad, just slow the pace and run in familiar places where you know whats under the snow, don't run if it's icy, particularly slippery if there's snow on top of ice. Be wary of places where you normally see puddles - they may be ice. I'm guessing in the UK snow generally doesn't last long and you are able to keep up running through the entire winter with extra rest days here and there if you don't want to run in snow?

You can get trail running shoes, they've got better grip, and you can get waterproof versions which will help keep your feet warm, and there are strap-on grippy things that can help as well... I have a pair handy in winter just for getting around when we have an inevitable skating rink outside due to freezing rain... in those conditions I imagine runners take to treadmills.
