I know this is probably a joke, but it does illustrate why some people run on treadmills in their garages or at 5am, and would not go near parkrun lest they be judged.

I was surprised to see this footfall in a such an established runner.

I didn’t judge the guy... if I were to do that I’d say he was amazing... he created the tools that enabled millions to extend their life expectancy.

What I realised though when I was at my highest weight is that some people judged me whatever I did. They probably still do now... I get judged on hair length, musical tastes, accent, shape... it’s just the way it is, nothing can change that. I could only turn off my giving a *^%#. Parkrun is probably the least judgmental environment I’ve ever put myself into, it is amazing to experience.
