W1R3...I encountered 'people' on my usually quiet runπ³ This was one of my fears when I started this however, I'm still alive and nobody laughed at me! Week one done, bring on W2!π
The fear of running in front of people! - Couch to 5K
The fear of running in front of people!
Well done! I can relate to the feeling of self-consciousness when out running.
The reality is that most people are going about their own business and hardly notice anyone else.
ππππ that is exactly how I felt and did several u turns in the first couple of weeks to avoid people. Then I thought, stuff it and now I have a cheery smile and good morning for everyone I pass.
We're doing an amazing thing here and we should hold our heads up high, all be it red, sweaty heads π ππ
Run behind them then π
Great job... thrown out of your comfort zone and still got the job done... a very handy experience to get in early.
I have just completed W1R1 so a proper newbie I took my 2 Jacks (doggies) with me and ran only on grass and im was a total tomato head. I was glowing!! I saw some neighbours and a few dog walkers but who cares at least we are making an effort
Of course you were making a effort. I was "caught" by my next-door neighbour on one of my consolidation runs when he was walking his dog. When I got home from the run he was full of admiration for me, he did NOT call me a silly old idiot and ask me to get my feet up and watch TV all day and never get any exercise. You get out there, exercise and continue with your π runs, you will find C25K one of the best experiences of your life.
Keep up the good work and never mind what other people think, itβs how you feel when youβve completed each run that counts, youβre doing a fantastic job of making your body produce more endorphins- the happy hormones - and you canβt beat that top of the world feeling each time your run is done ππππ»ππ»
