Everything went so well up until W8R3. I thought I was keeping the pace down and doing OK (looking up stats later I discovered I was going faster than I thought) but about 22 minutes in I had a sudden spike of pain behind my right knee - enough to cause a 'hop'. It wasn't too bad, so I slowed down and limped a few steps, but kept going and finished the 28 minutes (4.2K - maybe it wasn't slow enough). The next day, going up and down stairs was really uncomfortable. That kept up for the rest of the week, so no running. Muscle or tendon type pain behind the knees (hamstring?) and some pain under/around the kneecaps.
Anyway, I had another week off due to a holiday in France (Battle of Amiens Centenary event). Kinda dreading giving it another try but I will get back to it this week. I may not push myself to a full go at W9R1 straight off, just go for a gentle practice jog for as long as feels comfortable to get back into it.

Something tells me running is never going to be a passion. So far it's just been an effort. And if the knees seem like they are getting worn out I know which activity I will drop! For now I intend to complete this program and try a Park Run.
I feel the pain! Literally. I have been "laid up" for 10 days now. Pain after running inside bottom quarter of kneecap. Just thinking this morning that it was getting better and another 2-3 days i could start up again but then I came a cropper in the garden so who knows. It is frustrating and quite depressing. I am doing all in the Gym as it is nearly 40 outside so I am walking on the treadmill just to keep it moving and not lose everything I have gained.
Patience. It's been 3 weeks since my last run and I'm still having trouble on stairs, but walked over 10,000 steps today. Hope to be ready to try again soon.
