Hello friends. I am on WK 3, R1. I have noticed that my knees are starting to feel a little sore on the inside of the leg. Is this normal? Any advice?

I also had this last week (my week 3). Felt like a bruise on the side of my knee. I did my w3r3 run on Thursday and have taken a few days off and it seems to be feeling better. Will see tonight when I do w4r1.

Hopefully someone more in the know will be able to help.

If it's very mild, see if you can manage it, sometimes mild aches go away with some excercise, most get twinges when starting out, but never try and run through any pain, and must restup until pain free.

I had this in week 3-4 one knee after the other! Ibuprofen one hour before running works a treat. It’ll go in a week or so 👌🏽

Try knee strengthening exercises? There's some which are to be done sitting down so ideal for if you are at a desk in the day (google nhs knee strengthening or something like that - sorry I haven't got a link to hand). Also, consider your shoes, by about week 4 if you haven't already you might want to get proper running shoes from a running shop which can advise you.

Otherwise as davelinks says, sometimes it'll get better - as you get stronger :). Don't run through pain or use painkillers to mask it.

Read the faq post 'how to run C25K' if you haven't already, as well :)

It might be to do with your running gait. My feet turn in slightly and so I’ve had some trainers to support them. The guy in the shop said that can cause knee pain.
