My husband and I are both doing the program. I’m just about to set off for w5r2. My husband is at the same point however he is struggling with shin splints. Has anyone any top tips to help him?

Shin Splints
hiya. decent trainers. some non impact exercise and stetch correctly before and after.
Reduce impact.
Slow down, avoid heelstriking, keep footfall under your body not out in front, run on grass or treadmill, wear proper running shoes fitted after a gait analysis done at a specialist running shop.
I suffered from horrible shin splits in Week1......so after reading several posts here I decided to invest in proper running shoes after a gait analysis.
It's the best decision I took, as it has made a massive difference to my running experience to date.
I found that I overpronate on my left leg and having the right support helped with the shin splits.
Also, this knowledge made me conscious of how I position my feet while running......so I naturally began repositioning my feet as I ran below my body instead of in front of my body.
Try running on grass.....if possible.
Good luck 🍀
You could also try compression socks. I got some online for about £10. They can be very expensive in proper sport shops.
