What are people’s views on doing some of the runs at a gym on treadmill? Is that allowed as part of the programme?

Road or Gym?
A run is a run. I personally can't run on a treadmill and prefer running outside ( not sure what I'm gonna do in winter) as long as you are doing running movement it doesn't matter if it's on a treadmill or outside. They say you should put an incline on the treadmill to make it more realistic to outdoor running. Slow and steady wins the race. Happy running and keep smiling x
I always use the treadmill- it keeps my pace for me so I don’t run too fast and it cushions my feet to protect my knees. Plus although there is no air con in the gym it is at least in the shade! I have it on 1.5 incline.
Loads of folk do it indoors..they often have no choice, location, weather climate etc...
Many prefer outdoor running, as do I, but it all counts...
There are guidelines for setting incline etc to make it a valid and realistic running experience... and if you do venture out eventually remember it is very different running.. wonderful..but different
I found this which could be tweaked to maybe give an idea of how to run this programme on the treadmill...there are differences, in that the last weeks, he runs for 35 minutes and not 30...
Run where you like.
There is advice about this in the guide to the plan healthunlocked.com/couchto5...
I recently tried a treadmill whilst away from home and found it super easy at 2% incline. The mirrors are off putting though! 🤣
I used to run a lot (a long time ago) and absolutely hated treadmills. I could not see the point when running outside was so easy.
After knee surgery I now walk fine but if I try to run I limp. I found this embarrassing so I started the programme to help get rid of this. I use a treadmill because I don’t want people to see me run . Week three at the moment and I am running much better so I feel it won’t be long before I brave the roads.
