Either is fine. On treadmill set the incline to +1 degrees.

To your health and fitness, either should work.

But you have to consider your motivation. Some people can motivate themselves on a treadmill, some need the outside or they give up through boredom. Some people don't want to be seen running until they feel they are doing it 'properly'.

It also depends where you live and access to reasonable running routes.

So it's down to you.

Undoubtedly, in my book, outside. Vitamin D, fresh air, sensory stimulation, changing surfaces and gradients are all beneficial to being a good runner.

Treadmills are for people who like running on treadmills......they do the job........sort of.

I run outside... love it for the variety and it feels wonderful BUT I live in the dales and there is not a flat surface or even a gentle incline so am really slow... works for me ( I think) but you may want to look at where you live and what you want!! Enjoy

For me outside, hands down!! Recently done 2 runs on a treadmill and personally, I didn’t like it. Definitely prefer the sounds of the sea lapping (even crashing) against the beach on my runs 😍

I prefer outside, my friend prefers treadmill.

I like the fresh air and looking around, she likes being in control of distance, incline, able to stop at any point without being a long way from the look or home and an excuse to watch crap TV.

Do whatever you feel like, just run.

I imagine apart from the vitamin D, both are equally beneficial if used comparatively.

Not what you're looking for?
