Hello all. I just wanted to pick some brains today.
Have any fellow runners experienced these after embarking on their new found 'joy'?
Dizziness is affecting me most days (getting up too quick makes me feel like I want to fall down and my legs will feel very weak with it).
And also, without grossing you all out too much...I am waking at night with cramps and an urgent need to rush to the loo but then nothing happens. Now I have googled a lot about the famous 'runners trots' but am not actually going. Its just the feeling. Its really quite uncomfortable for a while afterwards and I cant sleep as the whole of my stomach and bowel area ache. Almost like the heavy feeling you get in very late pregnancy when baby drops and is ready to put in an appearance.
I hate rushing to the docs, especially if it is something that could be self inflicted. I was just after any ideas/advice
I only have 2 runs left to graduation and really don't want to have to stop now.
Thanks all x

Hi Kazzy.
I'm sorry to read about you not feeling well.
I don't suffer from the tummy cramps but I do suffer with Vertigo. Causes me to become very dizzy. The room can literally be spinning. So I have to be very mindful how I turn over in bed, how I'm getting up in the morning and generally how I turn my head on a everyday basis.
All to do with the fluid in your inner ears being off balanced.
It's not a nice feeling but there is medication available.
Be sure to see your GP as soon as possible to get yourself checked out though as it could be a number of thing causing your discomfort.
These symptoms could be a few things kazzy, and may not be related to running...it may be just a virus that is causing your symptoms. A trip to the docs if its been more than a few days would be a good idea.
Good luck getting it sorted and hope you feel better soon.x
