Hi guys, I'm 41 and have 6 children, I have just started the c25k and love it although I don't find it easy. I love walking and have done two 25k charity walks in the last 6 months. But running is a different kettle of fish. I'm wk1d2 completed. I now also cycle to work, its around 1.5miles each way. I'm loving the new healthier life style I have got. Really hoping I can complete the whole c25k. My knees are complaining a bit but I'll push on.
Only just begun. : Hi guys, I'm 41 and have... - Couch to 5K
Only just begun.
Good luck. Watch the knees!
Hi Mybelle, nice photo, I am also a cyclist, I think that has helped me in my C25K journey, I am on week 8, run 2 will be on Saturday, perhaps some of your children could accompany you on your C25K training runs, of course, that depends on what age they are, I was a spectator at a 5k event last year, there were several kids about 11 years of age who finished that 5k in about 28 minutes
Welcome to the forum and well done on getting started.
The guide to the plan is essential reading healthunlocked.com/couchto5...
Enjoy your journey.
hello, welcome along for the run.
SIX kids - wow - blimey!
Hope you enjoy the running, keep us posted.
Good to welcome a new start! Amazed at your achievements so far. I did the half moon and full moon previously (but certainly not recently) so can agree with you about the different kettle of fish. I've no doubt you'll excel though as you sound ready for the challenge.
Apart from welcoming you, I just wanted to recommend knee strengthening exercises on rest days. I'm on W9R2 and if there's anything I wished I'd done from day one it's that. Having had a ski injury before I chose to get a gym ball and do the recovery physio exercises I was taught, but there are plenty other methods and I'd like to go back to Pilates for this too, but can't fit it all in.
Wishing you the very best of luck as you start your journey and if you ever need any support, this is definitely the place!
🏃♀️💨
This will be a doddle compared to bringing up 6 kids! 😂
