Getting there

For the first time I felt like a runner this morning. I'm overweight, just turned 60 and very unfit, but I've just completed Week 6. I can't quite believe it. i haven't seen any obvious benefits so far, apart from the feeling of achievement, but no weight loss or change in shape, but I know I must be healthier and fitter.

My best tip for anyone starting out, especially if you're up to the longer runs, is to find something to listen to. I've downloaded some podcasts from the radio, and they just distract me from thinking about the distance still to go, or about how my legs might be feeling. And its just less tedious if you're listening to something or someone.
