Will I get through this?!

Hi , new to the community and C25K (exercise in generalšŸ˜¶)

I always thought I was quite fit, I'm slim and eat well but after just completing week 1 I'm not sure if I can do this? I feel so silly even writing this after a week. The thing is I'm really struggling with the running, all 60 seconds of it šŸ˜‚ and it's not got easier from run 1 to 3? Should it have done? Also any tips on breathing as I know I'm not 'doing it right'. Please be gentle with me x

Well done on completing week 1! You are quite possibly trying to run too quickly. Slow it right down - think snail's pace or pretend you are racing a tortoise and he is winning! You can do this!

Meant to say not to get too hung up on the breathing, it will sort itself out in time. Btw I started in January as an unfit 66 year old who had never run in her Iife before. If / I can do it anyone can!

Well done in completing your first week. As triumphbabe said you may be going too fast, slow away down and if you are struggling slow it down some more, as long as your two feet are off the ground youā€™re still running. Slow & steady. Your breathing will come. Good luck youā€™ll be amazed in a few weeks how far youā€™ve come. Keep at it.šŸƒā€ā™€ļøšŸ’Ŗ

It is very hard to believe but you will get through it šŸ˜‰. Most of us felt like you do now. As the other commenters have said, slowing down is really important - you canā€™t run too slowly! And donā€™t worry about your breathing, once again itā€™s something most of us struggle with, but slowing down may help. Good luck.

If you're aware of or concerned about your breathing, you're pushing yourself too hard. (That's someone else's wisdom not mine!) Slow it down a tad. And then a bit more. And then slow down again.

You will get through this!!

Good for you starting, you can do this, take one run at a time, you will get fitter and stronger each run and ditto to what everyone is saying, slow down. I graduated last month soon to be 65, love what this programe has done for me. Keep posting on here, there is so much support.

Week one definitely the hardest of them all. Clicked for me when I slowed right, right down - eventually I got it right, when I was running at exactly the same pace I do when walking fast!
