I'm 56 and hadn't run since my school days. Just about to go out for Week 5, run 1. The app is designed to build up stamina gradually so I'm sure you can do it. I do a lot of walking in my everyday life which helps. Good luck

Welcome..:)

Please check out the post for New runners...there is lots of sensible tried and tested advice:)

The mantra? Slow and steady, because it works.... take your time and enjoy the programme. Stamina and strength exercises are very useful on the way... rest days can be used for other non impact exercise to aid this. Walking, swimming, cycling etc...

Keep posting here for incredible support and encouragement... you will do this... and we, will be right there with you:)

I'm 57. Take it slowly, follow the instructions, make sure you're well hydrated before, stretch afterwards, read the pinned posts, enjoy. I'd give the same advice to anyone. Age ain't nothing but a really good idea to do this if you haven't been doing it until now.

Do your 3 runs a week with resting days between and you'll be graduating in no time. 😊

Welcome to the forum.

C25k is for everyone. You will not regret it.

Do follow the link that Oldfloss has sent you.

Enjoy your journey.

There are lots of us in your age range who have completed the programme or who are well into it now. I am 56 and now run regularly. I think that it is ideal for us more mature folks because of the steady, incremental increases in the effort and the way that this steadily builds strength and stamina over 9 (or so) weeks. Give it a go, as others have said- make it nice and slow.

I am 71 - I ran a 10K "race" last weekend with 500 younger runners :) - there were 3 of us in my age group. I did C25K 4 years ago and at that time I couldn't run out of sight on a dark night!! :)
