First run with my local running group....

On Wednesday evening I joined my local running group which was my first run since graduating on Sunday. Everyone was so welcoming and friendly and I also encouraged a friend to join me so we gave each other some morale support.

The session was interval running starting with a pyramid of 15/30/45/60/45/30/15 sec reps, followed by a 600m train (2 trains and the back runner has to sprint to the front). Running between lamppost with pace-change and finished with a 300m rep. Before we started the session I thought to myself, I should find this quite easy after completing C25K...how wrong was I πŸ˜† It was tough as it pushed my pace but I thoroughly enjoyed it 😁

Since graduating I wanted to mix my running up with some solo 30min runs but also joining a running group where I can run with others and build on my pace. Thankfully due to C25K I was able to keep up and didn’t feel like a newbie to running.

Happy running everyone πŸƒπŸΌβ€β™€οΈπŸ‘

Sounds as though you learnt a lot. Mixing it up is a great thing as it will help you work out what kind of running you enjoy most

Definitely good fun thank goodness and the lady who runs the group is great, really relaxed and making sure everyone is taking it at their own pace.

It felt good to join the group as I kept passing them doing my solo runs, I always got a cheery evening or hi so it was nice to feel part of the group 😊 xx

Good thinking to help keep the momentum up. Have to say you're brave though, no way in heck I'd be doing that! :D #completecowardbuthappybeingso
