Advice needed - not run since Christmas

I'd welcome your advice please. I completed C25K before Christmas but only had the chance to run a few more times before I injured my knee (not during a run). I gave it time to heal, then picked up a cold, then a chest infection!! Time moved on and it's only today that I finally got out for a run again - and remembered why I love it so much.

So - to my question: I did W3R1 today and found it easy. My plan then is to do W4R1 on Saturday, W5R1 Monday and so on until I find a run challenging and then I'll move forward with the programme properly. Does this seem reasonable? I don't want to just jump straight back in with long runs but don't know how else to judge what to do.

All thoughts would be very welcome. Thanks.

Just run. Sounds a reasonable approach.

You will find your level. No-one else can gauge it for you.

Run...as Rig says.. your body will tell you.. and if it is too much pull back :)

Ignore the program. Go for a run, walk when you need to, run when you can. You’ll be back to running 5km before you know it. And listening to your body is a good skill to develop.
