Did my Week 1 Run 1 on Saturday, but I’ve been putting off Run 2 as my hips has been so tight and achey! I love yoga and do this once a week, clearly this hasn’t helped prepare my hips for running! Could I need to stretch more rather than just do the 5min warm up? Xx

If you do a search on youtube for "yoga for runners" there are lots of great videos there. You could increase yoga to more than once a week as well, if you find a good, short video for runners you may want to incorporate it as part of your post-run stretch or use it the day after runs, and yoga with lots of warrior poses, chair poses, squats, etc can help build lower body strength. I change it up all the time with what yoga I do and find its complimenting c25k nicely!

If you are still aching from the last run, rest up a bit more.
The guide to the plan healthunlocked.com/couchto5... has links to stretches for pre and post run........they are not the same, so do check.
My hips were the same after run 1 - I felt a bit like a thunderbird puppet!!
I was still a bit achy but I did run 2 yesterday and feel much better today - I did the 5 min warm up walk but then extended the warm down walk to more like 7-8 mins as I finished further away from home. I’ve also found that stretching A LOT after the run has really helped me too. I did the run in the morning, so I stretched straight afterwards and then a few times during the afternoon. I guess it’s just our bodies getting used to it all! Hope this helps ☺️
