Male or female?????

There is a notable difference me thinks. 🧐

Male :) Sorry forgot to add that in!

If you're male then I would say you might need a little.....ahem...support but shorts do have built-in linings but it might not be enough. I'm sure some of the guys here will be along to advise.

If you're female then I would say it depends on the leggings (some have built-in gussets and some don't) and on your own comfort and preference.

Yep i'm male but i find aside from longer runs the supports not too necessary personally...built in linings are good an i use them when the shorts use have them, they seem to be pretty good. Unless you are especially well endowed i suppose then that adds another dimension!!

Leggings and commando.

Would tend to agree! Unless in summer then shorts and commando...but preferably with a lining otherwise everything goes everywhere!!

My husband said he would go commando but tuck it into his socks. 🀭

I think once you start doing longer runs you will discover the joys of chafing if you persist in going commando.

If you thought bleeding nipples was bad, welcome to a whole new circle of hell.

β€’ in reply toRignold

yep have had that...i usually wear compression shorts or shorts with a decent liner nowadays, but nice sometimes to do without on a shorter run

Do you mean you run without underwear or does Commando have a different meaning here?

β€’ in reply toseaspaniel

Correct seaspaniel letting it swing free!!

I vote no. Indeed I had to upgrade my undercracker retaining system. No point in having someones eye out going through a corner.

Sorry about that. I had another post where someone said they had scared the dog after reading it. I might have to get public liability insurance.

Support is always good whether male or female. You can find gear that supports but still makes you feel like you are running free.

My son did C25K ahead of me and suggested I get some Lycra undershorts. They hold everything in place and are really comfy. It is like being commando but wearing two pairs of shorts, if that makes sense. I got them on Amazon for a fiver.

I an sure there is a forum for runners of a naturistic persuasion where the pros and cons of commando running are discussed. Mind you running naked is generally meant to mean running without any music and/or technology
