Holiday running - yes or no?

I'm going on holiday tomorrow (whoop whoop!) to the island of Paxos. It's only a tiny island of around 10km by 4km.

Do you lovely people run when you're on your jolly's? I'm taking my running kit with an open mind. Mr. Sazzle says he doesn't mind if I do (he's never awake anyway!) but I wondered what others did.

I don't need an excuse to run, but it is a great way to see places isn't it?

Huge Wedding cake today! (Bottom tier Chocolate Fudge, fourth tier Red Velvet, third tier Victoria Sponge (for PP) second tier Lemon Layer, top tier Coffee and Caramel). The groom's cake on the left is a boozy fruit cake :-)

Absolutely! It is THE way to explore new areas and you get to see so much more than driving. I always run on holiday and my kit is the first thing I pack now. Take photos and post to tell us all about it. We love hearing about running tourism. Enjoy your hols.

Fab cake btw!

Yes. Run to the places you wouldn't have otherwise seen, and then come back, tell everyone about them, and make them all fumingly jealous. :-)

Yes, yes, yes! Running has bought a new dimension to holidays for me. You get see a few little things you might otherwise have missed.

I usually keep it a bit shorter and slower to enjoy the surroundings.

I absolutely LOVE reading about other people's holiday running too so make sure you tell us all about it ☺

Have a lovely time ☺☺☺☺

It might be red hot! If so, you can run at sundown and then come home back to your digs and get in the pool. Hope there is one, or it's a dip in the sea. World's your oyster int it

I love a Greek salad too. Lots of crunchy cucumber in mind

Gorgeous cake!!!!! OMG, I'll have a bit of each please. Ta I'll have PP's too as she can't have any as she's being good. I was good last week so that's all right then

Have a fabbo holiday and think of us lot back when you're out running on the seafront x

Oh, lucky you! Paxos is utterly beautiful! Run if you fancy it, or just mooch about enjoying it :)

Sazzle, I've just looked back at a few of your old posts, your cakes are to die for! I am sitting here hungry right now..

Right, back to the question at hand. I vote bring kit. If you get the urge to run then do so, if not, then relax / sight see / consume yummy food and drink to your hearts content and forget the trainers until you come back home! Have a lovely holiday :-)

I would take because you never know but don't feel guilty if you don't. I love running in new places but sometimes it's good to get just relax too. Enjoy!!

Lovely cakes again!!

As a new runner I am taking my gear to Florida next year just so I can get a half hour run early morning. Then stuff my face with pancakes and maple syrup. Yes! :-) have a great time. Your cakes look and sound great! :-)

Definitely take your gear. I took my stuff away for the first time earlier this year to Budapest. It was brilliant running throgh the city. I'm going to Egypt in December/January & I'll definitely be packing it again. Early morning run followed by swim in clear blue sea - sounds just about perfect to me🌞

Definitely! It's almost more fun to run in unfamiliar places. As someone said it's a great way of exploring. I'm in Reykjavik for four days and you bet I've already been on a run. Apparently I passed Bjork's house but didn't bump into her walking her dog. ...
