Hello! Attempting my 1st run effort tomorrow morning. Not run since school and even then, always got stitch within minutes. Have things changed? Only time (9 wks) will tell...
Starting tomorrow! : Hello! Attempting my 1st... - Couch to 5K
Starting tomorrow!
Congratulations on committing to starting the C25K. There is some excellent advice and support on here so keep coming back,... just do what the plan tells you. And no matter how slow you think you’re running, if you start to struggle, slow down some more. Good luck 😉 🏃♂️. Liz x
Thank you!!!!
Well done for taking your first step into the programme! It's not a sect but be aware that running and this forum can be highly addictive, not to mention the conditioning to run in all weather conditions (well, nearly or so) and a general trend to go out in town unshamedly in running pants and bright flashy colours
As Lillybeth said, we all tend to run too fast on the first weeks as we have that mental representation of running as something where you go fast. But no: make sure you start slow after the warming-up (some of us need more than 5 mns...) and if you find it difficult, slow down even more. And breathe!
All the best!
Well done for starting! Have fun.
Slow and steady... and get out there... I am running tomorrow.. I will check for your post later
Thanks all for the tips. Helped! Very much!!
I did my first run at 8am this morning. In the rain! Felt ambivalent at the start but feeling great now. Jo Wileys voice is so motivational. Amazing to think I ran for 8 mins in total.
A great way to end the year which has been dogged by health concerns. Bring on 2018 !!!
Well done. Keep going. You’ll find lots of friendly support here.
