Good luck! I'm only on week 2 and already dreading week 6... pace yourself don't go too fast, it's about constantly moving not setting the best time you can
Hi Gmarts We've all been here, thousands of us, all shapes, sizes, ages and levels of experience and health saying exactly the same thing - WE ALL DID IT!! You will too. As our mentors always say..... slow and steady. It works, really works. Look forward to your post announcing to us all that you managed it. You will feel justifiably proud of yourself. Good luck
Start off a little slower so that you can settle into the longer runs. You can always speed up once you get going. And consider a new route if you've been doing the same one. That way it'll be new and exciting, and you won't have visual cues to where you had walk breaks before.
You have already run/brisk walked for a total of 23 minutes, so the step up is relatively small. As with all the runs that increase duration, start nice and slow.
You can do it. Relax into it, dont fight it or you will be struggling against yourself - thats what Ive found from time to time anyway. Honestly, you will suprise yourself. It isnt as much of a hurdle as the end of week 5.
Don't think! Just do! If you're anything like me, your mind will want to give up long before your body does. I used to checklist myself (sometimes out loud) - does my knee hurt? does my back hurt? are my lungs ok? I was nearly always ok, so just kept going. I never ever ever resorted to walking, because for me that would have been the easy option. Slow down to almost walking if you have to and you'll get through it, honest...Good luck...xx
Hi Gmarts you can definately do it. Believe me, the most unfit person there is, haha. We all know the feeling of our first wk 1 run 1 where we could hardly breathe after a run of 60 seconds.... Remember it? 😁😄 Well, YOU CAN DO IT my lovely. Take it from this Welsh lass here.
You have trained up till now and exercised those legs in preparation for this run. The C25K is dedicated to improving on each week. Slow and steady is key, please remember that, you will go for longer and/or have the energy to keep going in the weeks to come then.
Don't think of running for 25 mins, just think of hearing your mentor's voice and focus on that and listen to the music. Keep looking ahead knowing it will be completed.
Aww, no worries lovely. I'm going to go over the last few weeks of the podcast, as I just haven't been able to have a good run or more than one lately, with everything going on. So any probs, I'll do a virtual run with you for wk 6 🤗👍🏃♂️🏃♀️
Wow thankyou all so much ! Smashed it tonight and it felt easier than week 2, which i may have underestimated as flickM3 said is probable as its only ( only !!!) Two 10 minute runs. She was right, I think mentally i wasnt prepared for week 6 R2.
Thankyou all and with so much praise for quirkybee whose message was going through my mind all the way. Truly inspirational as all of your fantastic words are.
Roll on week 7 and a very happy new year to all of you 😁😄😄
