I take great enjoyment in watching all the people drive past gloomily in their cars as I run along feeling so alive and so free.
For me the dark and the rain are like a comfort blanket and it always feels more of an adventure the wilder it is. And I love the excitement of an adventure as you don't know where it will take you...
So lucky to be able to run- we all are. Lets enjoy it
Happy Panthering

True! I once ran on a snowy Boxing Day with those grippers on my trainers. Along the main road there was a mile long snake of crawling cars all headed for the B&Q sale 🙄 All gloomily staring at the traffic queues ahead. I danced along merrily. Suckers! 😃. Boxing Day! I ask you
I thought of you Juicy Ju when I was perusing run tunes This one made me imagine you panthering free through the lush undergrowth
I saw someone running on Christmas day last year, proper loony I thought, my local park run has a run on Christmas day this year, I can't wait for it. ❄
That is very, very funny. I too have made the "handbrake turn" in attitude from "what an idiot" to "wonder what week they're on" . Brilliant, thanks a lot
I see myself more like a horse than a panther; trotting through the wild weather, tossing my mane and clip clopping along; I aspire to feline grace but, ho hum, at least I'm cantering (not galloping yet )
Each to their own. I have always been a fairweather runner. The bluer the sky, the hotter the sun the more i enjoy the run. i never start a run in the rain unless it's a parkrun. Today i usually do a 10k run but the weather forecast was not good. However after my usual session at the gym i checked outside and the rain has stopped so i went for it. Soon it started to drizzle, this isn't too bad i thought, then it got heavier. Should i abandon the run and return to the gym ? No i decided to plod on as everyone i know enjoys running in the rain. The rain then turned to frozen rain, i considered that i must be insane to run in these conditions but i persevered then disaster, my shoe lace had come undone so i stopped to re-tie it. However my fingers and hands were frozen so this simple action took an age. The rain did become intermittently lighter but the roads and paths were littered with large pools of water with the conditions now more suitable to swimming than running. Closing in on the end to the run , time for a sprint to the finish. No chance - my thighs are so cold and drenched i just can't lift them. Back to the gym for a warm shower and a visit to the steam room. I have just returned home and all my clothes are absolutely saturated. Sorry I'm not a convert to this running in the rain, bring on the summer.
