To those struggling ...

I have just completed W5R2 and am so proud of myself. Like many on this forum I have struggled from week 1 but my tip to those people is to consider going back a week or two. I completed W4R3 many weeks ago and managed to injure myself (unrelated to C25K) and didn’t run for 6 weeks. When I started again I went back to the start of week 3 as the thought of recommencing at W5R1 or redoing W4 and having only 3 runs till the dreaded week 5 put me off. OMG it was the best thing I ever did. Previously my recovery walks were me standing still trying to breathe again but going back 6 runs - I knew I could already do it and so the run was slightly easier as I wasn’t apprehensive about it and the recovery walk actually involved walking. I’m still apprehensive at the thought of my next run but I’m confident that the plan works and as my brisk walks are not much different to my slow runs I’m hoping to smash it. However, to those finding it tough every time they go out - consider a step back - it worked wonders for me!!

Well done.

You managed the runs because you knew you could do it, so that is what you have to do with future runs that at present you are dreading........... believe in yourself, dispel all negative thoughts and push on through the plan.

You can do it.
