What type of food do you eat to prepare you for your run? I have yet to find the perfect fuel for my runs!

Provided your normal diet is good - you don't need any "fuel" at all before a short run. After about an hour of running, some high GI carbs start to be needed. Hydration before a run is another matter :)

I run most often in the mornings, and reckon porridge is a good option an hour or two beforehand, because of the slow release carbs. I like it with banana chopped on top.

We are all different.. as Bazza1234 says.. eating and hydrating properly should mean you are fine..these are not marathon runs... but we all have different ideas.

I run early.. about an hour after my morning cuppa and two digestive biscuits.. I have done that since 2015.. works for me...two sips of water before I leave the house:)
