To eat or not to eat.........

I have to run after work so at about 6pm, having had a sandwich at lunchtime and am lucky enough to have a local seafront that I can clatter along!! What's the consensus on when and what to eat before running......?

Not sure there is a consensus as we all differ. Me I am a coffee and water girl....

Thank you....that's my husband's way too!!! He eats like a horse afterwards though.....it's a tricky one....trial and error I guess.

I think it really depends on how you feel during the run, Mr JCR if he doesn't eat little and often, visibly drains like a cartoon character... whereas me I just need the liquid.

Thank You for your advice....I've not tried coffee before a run yet....I shall deffo give it a go!

Hi, I run about the same time. I usually eat a banana abt 1 before I run helps.

I'd go with a banana mid afternoon!

That's when I do most of my running. I try to have a banana or other fruit about 4ish - time for it to go down but not running on totally empty. And drink lots of water all day (not just before the run). Remember to have a wee last thing before you set off or you'll be looking for the nearest WC!
