Thoughts on eating before early morning runs! Do you have a cuppa or burst outta bed, gear on and trot on?

Definitely cuppa first !

Cuppa and a banana or cereal bar beforehand definitely!

Pint of water at least. No one runs well dehydrated. But fasted cardio if less than an hour.

I started off running with not eating but now I have found I run better if I eat. I usually wake up have a coffee and 1 slice of toast with a small amount of peanut butter. I then get the kids ready and take them to school. By the time I'm back and in my running stuff the food has settled. I am lucky though that I mostly work from home so can do this. If I'm pushed for time I'll have a Special K fruit crisp or similar, I find this gives me a boost but isn't too much.

I just have water to drink before early morning runs and a cup of freshly brewed coffee after a shower when I get back. I never eat breakfast whether I run or not. I know people say breakfast is the most important meal of the day but it makes me feel ill! If you want to eat I would recommend you leave it an hour before you run.

Two glasses of water, and then I'm out . If I stopped long enough to do anything else, I might not make it out at all! I'm always out of the house less than 10 minutes after the alarm goes off.

A cup of tea in bed :) Two digestive biscuits.. then get up, dressed and running gear on, a drink of water before leaving..( about thirty minutes before I get out there..).it's worked so far!

Always hungry when I get back....I always have a drink of water straight away...but don't eat until showered and changed. :)

Okay..now I feel peckish! :)

A cuppa and a hot water in bed, never breakfast I have that when I get back. Mind you this is about 6.00 am if I do a morning run - I take half an hour to drink and make sure I can visit the loo before i go - dont want to spoil my run half way through!

Toast, black coffee, Vitamin C - I'm hopeless without breakfast.

I have a slice of toast with some jam and a pint of water ... I was having a couple of mugs of tea instead of the water, but always ended up with a jippy tummy :/ After some googling I figured the tea was probably dehydrating me, so I switched to the water and so far so good. I have a banana and more water when I've finished.

Glass of water and a coffee first thing, then a slice of cheese before I run if I'm out first thing. If I'm catching the bus to run back, I might have half a banana or possibly a slice of toast, but normally just the cheese, except a bit later.

Lots of water, nothing else. The tea and breakfast afterwards is really welcome. Sometimes I treat myself and have it in a cafe before going home!
