5 weeks ago these were just leaving their box for the first time, however 15 runs though Lincolnshires woodlands have left them slightly grubby!

Is it ok to put trainers in the washing machine?

😱 never, ever, ever put them in the washing machine, you'll kill them! Be proud of that mud and dirt, running medals they are!

Floss is right. I don't think any manufacturer would recommend putting them in the washer.........................however, many runners do!

I have a bucket and brush outside and scrub them off, while still wearing them, after each muddy run, then stuff them loosely with newspaper and they dry pretty quickly.

Bucket and a brush sounds like a plan thanks Ian

Never the washing machine! I hose mine when muddy (and still wet) then stuff with paper to dry. 🙂

Same method as Sandraj39 . Works like a charm.

I tried the washing machine once (a 30 degree wool programme without centrifuging) and they survived but looked bleached, old and tired afterwards.

So I'm getting the impression that the washing machine is out, bucket or hosepipe is in... thanks all

No! By the looks, they only need a bang off and maybe a stiff brush..

Or as John Cleese say's, a damn good thrashing! Though with a brush and not a branch!😁

No, it will wreck them. Cold water is fine, then in airing cupboard!!!

It's odd really, the last time I cleaned a pair of shoes was in 1990 (September 1990 to be precise) because that was the last time I had someone telling me to!! This running thing must have really got to me!!

I thought everyone put them in the machine!!! I'm obviously the only one!! 😁
