...that is Mo Farah, winning his World Championship 10,000m gold medal at the London Stadium. I know it's not C25K (๐ฎ) but I had to share a little bit of a very special evening (and you don't get more running related or inspiring than Mo Farah do you?) Amazing atmosphere in the packed stadium as we all cheered on a fantastic procession of athletes. Usain Bolt, was of course one of the main attractions but the night belonged to our Mo! In as tough a 10000m race as we will ever see, he worked so hard to make it his race and showed us why he commands so much respect from not only us the fans (who look on in awe) but also the other athletes (who I think also look on in awe!) I have to say I cheered and shouted myself hoarse over those 10000m and the cheers from the crowds were actually painful on our ears over the last couple of laps! I heard so many others saying this as we left the stadium - again, amazingly well managed exit of 60000 people! It looks like an amazing end to MO's last season on the track - although I hope we will have a few more years of enjoying his running yet. Fingers crossed for the 5000m final on Saturday - lucky ol' ancientrunner is going to be at that one!!๐
Last night I saw the legend..!!๐๐๐๐ฟ๐ฅ - Couch to 5K
Last night I saw the legend..!!๐๐๐๐ฟ๐ฅ
Wasn't it glorious I saw it on Italian tv, it looked amazing - their entrance and then what a finish. I was lucky enough to go to London 2012, and I am still very proud that our country pulled off an amazing event and that now we get these games as a celebration.
Sadiq Khan delivered a very powerful opening speech too, don't know if that went out on tv but yep, we can be proud, I think๐
Didn't see Sadiq, , but I'd just got in from the airport at our local Ingliano pub... He sells Greenwich meantime beer and does a mean gin...
It's c25k related and everyone needs someone to look up to. Looks like a fab night. Did you see my cousin?
Sounds really fantastic!!! Lucky you...
PS
He ran even faster to impress you x
I watched Mo on TV, just needed to see 'the smile' to pick me up. But to have been in the stadium must've been momentous. Lucky you
It was pretty amazing on the telly...........and of course none of us are the slightest bit jealous.
If I could run half as fast as him I would be over the moon!!! Whilst I admire Bolt and all that he had done... I have really enjoyed all the success that Mo has had as he runs the distances that we generally do.... but a bit quicker!!!!
What brilliant pictures! Sadiq Khan was on TV - and came over very well.
I saw Sadiq on TV during the Para Athletics a couple of weeks ago and he spoke very well then too. I like Sadiq.
Saw the race on tv. Yes, Mo was amazing - what a finish! It must have been fantastic being there in the stadium ๐
Wow! Lucky you. I would have given my eye teeth to be there What a night
It wasn't half bad today either ๐
