I started off so well and was about 10 mins in when I got a awful stitch (this hasn't happened before) so I had to stop but even after it had eased I seemed to have lost my motivation so I just walked back home! I'm I'm absolutely gutted as this is the 1st one I haven't managed to completeπ
Can I try again tomorrow or do I still need a rest day? Any advice would be welcome! π

We can not measure ourselves by our successes alone. A better measure is how we react when we get knocked back
Don't beat yourself up. In martial arts we have a saying. A black belt is just a white belt that refused to give up.
Personally, I'd try again as soon as I felt up to it. And accept that sometimes things don't go as well as planned.
Let me be the first to remind you that F*** is not a word that we use on this forum. Some runs turn out to be experimental, or tests, or explorations, or attempts at a new technique. Or (as a teacher told me): 'First Attempt In Learning'. So you did not fail. You just learned something different from what you expected.
In the podcasts C25K about Week 4, Laura talks about getting a stitch. The science is not agreed upon, but it is thought that a stitch may be connected with dehydration. You've learned that on longer runs, it is more important to be hydrated. Hydration for running is all about what you drank yesterday, and nothing to do with what you sipped just before (or during) your run today.
So I would say, get out an run today. You've now got some experience of running for 25 minutes. Slow down, pace yourself, go a different route (so that you don't have the 'I stopped here' landmark to get past) and let us know how you get on.
Not a fail! You still get to add 10 minutes to your running total! After W7R2 you had 275 in the bank, so now you have 285. No one can take those away from you, you never loose them, they don't expire!!
But why did it happen? Who knows! Maybe the weather, maybe something you are, or didn't eat, maybe you didn't sleep well, drink enough, maybe someone upset you the day before. There really are no end of causes for a bad run. Just remember, any run is better than no run.
Move on, keep smiling, keep running and keep posting πππΌππΌββοΈππ₯
