Suprised after starting on the treadmill

Just completed W3R2 and surprised that I found it better outside compared to the treadmill. I started on the treadmill to cushion my knees and avoid pollen to help me breath - however was away for the weekend with no treadmill and did W3R1 outside. I found it ok - there is more to look at outside and I found myself looking in the distance and aiming for different targets. Also on a treadmill you have to set a speed - I walk at 3mph and run at 4.5mph and wonder whether outside I run at a slower pace which helps the stamina. I was frightened of the outside world but after 2 runs definitely my preference - early morning it was quite fresh and not too hot. So anyone on a treadmill give outside a go if you can!!
