Interruption to training regime

Oh blow! Life is messing up the training again. Lots of visits to parent in hospital means less time and energy with all the travelling and stress. Hopefully it won't be for too long and I can pick up where I left off.. Onward and upward! ;-)

Hope it's a short interruption. Even if not, fitness-wise it's surprising how long the stamina stays around. In the meantime, there are probably lots of stairs at the hospital you're visiting, and while time with your parent will be at a premium, taking the stairs to give yourself a moment to clear your head before and after a visit will keep those legs moving! And if you can fit in a little 20 minute run at some point then do that - don't feel you have to stick to any predetermied plan.

Lol, yes. I've been running (erm well, plodding) up 6 flights of stairs at each visit. And then catching my breath on the landing before going to the ward to visit.

Thanks for your reply - a short run when I can fit it in is a great idea.

Stairs do me all the time. Even when I'm running regularly and regard myself as fairly fit (and I'm not overweight at all), I'm usually out of breath when I get to my flat 2 storeys up!
