Since doing the longer runs I now seem to have the most awful 'hangover' the whole of next day if I have a few alcoholic drinks. No headache, but I feel really exhausted and nauseous. I seem to have become intolerant. Has anyone else experienced this?

Drink!
I have found alcohol rather dehydrating for a while. Used to drink regularly and never had any issues. Now I have a drink or two a week but always regret it the next day. This started before the running so I have avoided a drink the night before.
I think I am just getting old! Perhaps you need to increase fluids, I know I do.
It could be the fluids you're right but I haven't felt as ill drinking since new years eve 1996 (and that was a bad hangover !!) thanks for your thoughts.
Good advice. Thanks👍
I think Hidden might be on to something. As your post heading says, Drink. We are all different but running does move the balance of how hydrated you are. I am a right sweaty Beaty when I run and therefore need hydration sooner than somone who doesn't sweat, so it is more to do with your own body. While going through the program you don't need to take water out with you for up to 30 min unless you, live in a very hot country but make sure the rest of the day you are drinking enough. I have found that as I get older the less I can tolerate alcohol 😀🍷. Running hasn't changed the way I tolerate alcohol so much as I can't run the day after if I have over 2 glasses of wine. Some people love to run with a hangover I just can't face it, so that changes when I have a tipple to fit In with my runs, natural progression is that I now drink less than before I started running.😀🏃♀️.
Hi Realfoodieclub. I think hydration is probably part (or possibly all?) of the story and age certainly doesn't help! (I'm now 53 unlike my youthful avatar Penelope Pitstop) Though my hangovers have definitely got worse with age, there does seem to have been a sudden worsening of hangover symptoms since I started this programme, specifically jogging the longer times. Maybe it's not such a bad thing but just curious. I only drink on the evening after a run (Like you I wouldn't dream of running with a hangover!!!)
