Do what YOU want to either with the group or on your own.

Glad of the warning - I'm joining a running club for a beginners group next week, they say it's their equivalent of C25K. I'll be doing that as one of my 3 runs/week. I really struggle with running outdoors and find the treadmill easier even though it's not what I want to do, hence why I'm joining them. BUT, if they want me to do more than I'm comfortable with I'm out of there. For me it's much more important that I don't get disheartened and give up.
Ask the group leader to advise you of the week by week plan, and shae your concerns with them.
That's not that different to the NHS plan though. 3x3 mins rather than 2x 90 secs and 2x 3 mins. It's just one of the runs is broken up on the NHs plan.
I think you will be surprised what is doable. The C25k plans, for all the minor variants between them, are based on some solid science and a lot of experience. Many, if not most, beginner runners express doubts about their ability to advance according to the plan at various points. W5 notoriously. But almost all do manage it and surprise themselves.
Sometimes you just have to have faith in the plan.

You were struggling with their ideas about the speed in your last post? I think I suggested mentioning it to them ?
If you really feel it is not doable, and are not able to follow Rignold 's go with the plan idea, then maybe run on your own?
He is right, in that we are all capable of much more than we think... I really surprised myself yesterday..( but have got to repeat it to make sure it wasn't a fluke)..
Have a think of how you want to travel forward
