Hi how is everyone doing on this easter quest?

I've named the Quest the,' Run Rabbit Run Easter Quest,' because I think its about time the Easter bunny got fit!!!! That way he can eat more chocolate, so its a win win for him!!

What the quest is:-

The quest takes six weeks.

You can join any time within that six weeks.

The main aim of the quest is to help you find a focus or goal that you would like to achieve by the end of the Quest period.

I ask that you are a graduate . The main reason I ask this is that while you are doing the program your plan is very structured so I wouldn't want the quest to interfere with that.

Most popular goals are:-

To run three times a week

To slowly increase distance

To train for a specific race

To add In Stretch and strength exercises

As you can see they are personal to yourself and it's totally your own choice.

Every week I will pin a new post where all the members of the quest can talk about how things are going.

So if you wanted to join all you have to do is put

I would like to join the quest, or count me in and then I would like to. ..............

Your name will be added for the duration of the Quest.

Good Luck everybody !

Oooh, getting close to the end now!

Streets ahead with my '3 Things to Do' - not only is it already ticked off for the Quest but I did four last week, helped by a mini-holiday returning my precious firstborn to the North East which took care of 3 *and* my two days of 10,000 steps.

Not so pleased I didn't achieve my ride yet cycle as it should have been prime time but various things were against me and I was very pleased that aforementioned precious *did* go cycling on numerous occasions whilst home, wearing my cycle shorts!

I wanted to swim 3k over the Quest. Went twice over the Easter holidays with my other son, which doesn't do much for distance, and we mistimed the first so that we gave up pretty soon. So I've a fair bit still to do to get to 3k.

Weight...hmmm... well, I don't think it was my Easter egg wot dun it but something did. I would like to see better than negative progress on this at least by the end of the Quest!

No running at all which is most unusual, so hoping to make up for that this week and make some plans with a certain person.

Aha! Well done on the steps and the Things to Do. Swimming over the school holidays is always harder, I find, due to finding times when the pool is available for lengths rather than splashing. Which is fine, but doesn't get you far towards your 3k.

Yes - we went after a splash session thinking it would be quieter then, but half the pool was roped off for lessons which I'd not bargained on. Which left some seriously fast folk who'd usually be in lanes trying to get through, and there were a couple of Dads with young teenagers playing a ball game across the rest - which was absolutely fine, except that they weren't paying any attention to any other users and the Dads in particular seemed to think it was very amusing if they got in anyone's way.

So the next time we went *before* the splash session and it was fine.

Can't believe this is week 5 already! eek!

Running at least twice a week. Ummm, nope. Didn't run at all last week. :( Just wasn't going to happen. By the time I got home from work, Mr Rainbow was so exhausted from managing the girls all day that I simply couldn't ask him to hold on for another 45 mins so I could just pop out for a bit... And by the time we'd negotiated evenings and things were calm and peaceful it was late and I was shattered. So, no.

Increasing long run. See above :(

Increase daily step count. This I did! :) I was 3000 below target on Wednesday, but with a week's total of over 85,000 my daily average was well over! Saturday we made the most of the weather and did a lovely long dog-walk - and Younger Teen and I did double the distance of the other two, as we walked back to our starting point to fetch the car! So success on 1/3 anyway...

Week 5 already! How did that happen? :D

Well I already know I won't reach my goal of running 6 k by the of the quest because I started a myasics plan and want to stick to it. I will be doing the 6 k a week later and that's fine with me :)

Anyway, I did go running 4 times last week again! Feels great! I actually ran 5 k for the first time ever yesterday! I'm really proud of myself and so are my boyfriend, parents, friends.. I had to let everyone know immediately :D

I didn't go the the gym last week at all. Oops. I did go today though so off to a better week already ;)

There was a marathon in my city yesterday and the thousands of runners had to put up with the worst weather ever, including hailstorms :( I saw quite a few finishers looking very proud with their medals. At least they know they REALLY earned it. Must have been so tough!

Well done folks! Some great action going on. Go us! 😃

I managed to tick off another race yesterday. Got another two lined up for May and two in July. All hilly!!!! 😮

My heel has been annoying me but it seems much better even after yesterday's effort

I hope to join the modern world phone wise this week and start to get to grips with running technology with voice coached apps. Apparently, myasics plans can go with me when I run and nag at me

Good luck with your plans everyone 😃

2 x 5k again last week - one was as 33 minute pacer at parkrun. Definitely helped one lady get a PB, but looking at the results another in front and one behind also got them, so hope I helped them too. Happy that my watch said 32.55 then official results said 33.02 😞

Walked 22 miles. Worked 38 locks. Home from hols to find I've not put any weight on so that's a result.

Well done everyone, xx

Not too bad week last week... a 3, and a 5... I have got all my days mixed up somehow. Not posting runs much at the moment..just logging them.

Keeping on with three runs a week though, walking level is still high...managing to maintain my level of walking

.

Core strength exercises went a bit a.w.o.l... as I have built two sheds, one metal and one wood both 8' x 4'... ! Moved three wardrobes and planted five big shrubs...maybe I got some core strength in there somewhere?

Everyone seems to be doing really well.. some super stuff going on !

Well as my Mum says "It's all very well keeping fit, but fit for what?" So I would say that the ability to build sheds, move wardrobes and plant big shrubs is what!

Yeay! My thoughts exactly.. gotta love this running lark! ( bit tired now though) :)

Well done everyone! I had a mixed week. I'm doing 5-10K plan by active and the second day, week 2 was horrendous. It is around 100 degrees here at the moment with high, energy-sapping humidity, anyhow I go to the gym (it's in the apartments) and there's this cute little old lady who is sometimes there on the rowing machine in her sandals, however she had the aircon on at its highest temperature rather than lovely and icy cold...I think this got me off on the wrong foot and although I did the time it wasn't at the pace it should've been and just felt all wrong! Anyhow today I just did day three, 35 mins of steady run, and it felt great...I went late so I had control of the aircon!!! I was saying to my kids when I got back, how have I turned into someone who looks at time left and smilingly thinks "oh only 20 minutes left to run, cool' ??!! Anyway enough rambling...I think I may repeat this week. If Dhiny is around have you been doing it and how are you finding it? Btw thank you for setting up this challenge it pays to feel accountable 😊🏃🏼‍♀️

pretty good - although I just got 2 runs in last week - pulled a muscle in my side while doing my strength training, and had to miss my 3rd run... but started this week with the Stepping Stones podcast - that was fun! (no really - that was fun!) and I just found out there's a Park Run only 1/2 hour from my house!! Going to hit that Saturday morning!! whoot!

Still not running have dreaded PF (Plantar Fasciitis). Doing some stretches etc.

Still pain particularly in morning but seem to be easing.

Will try a run on Wednesday and Sunday but plan to do no more than 2K and see how I go.

I completed my 4 runs, that's 10 weeks in a row averaging about 24 km a week. I'm quite pleased with that.

I ran 10 k yesterday and deliberately wanted to push myself, because normally I'm a slow starter and it's about time I worked on that. Of course I was knackered by km 7 (but my times were good!) and kept thinking I should stop. So I kept pausing my watch, walking a bit and then thinking, "no, carry on, you've got to do 10k" and starting again. I got the 10k and I got a PB aswell (1:09:17), but I felt a bit of a cheat as I had those non-recorded walking bits in there. If it had been a race they'd have been included and it would probably not have been a PB. Mind you Runkeeper did do some weird things, after one walking section at 7.4 km it suddenly jumped back to 7.1 km when I started again. It did that twice, so maybe I would have got a PB after all. Anyway it stands recorded for all eternity now and I've crept into the top 50% for my age-group for 5, 10 and 15k.

Oh and I finally lost some weight (1 whole lb).

And I've bought myself a new watch.

Quite a good week really!

Pretty good week. Managed 3 runs. 2x5k runs and the gym and 1x30 min run outdoors. The Quest is really helping to keep me focused. 🌻🌻

Not going according to plan at all! Only ran once last week :x ! Been doing so much in the garden that I haven't made time. Tried the Stamina, got through it, but wasn't easy! Need to get back to it properly...xx

Got all three runs done. Not on plan but knee is good and I will be unprepared training wise for my race but hey ho, there should be nice bling!

Have a great week fellow questers and to everyone on the IC or unable to run, keep the faith, always.

Two runs this week: Killer (had to stop once, dammit, but it was my fastest attempt) and my 'orrible trail race, which was my slowest 10k yet. But I finished, so that will do.

Happy running everyone, and a swift recovery to all those on the IC or who are struggling.
