Food. Help please.

Hi all,

Me again the pesky one. 😀

I am just wondering what I should be eating for optimum. Performance and weight loss. I really have no idea. I eat pretty much anything and everything.

A well-balanced diet, basically. And stop eating 'anything and everything'. It seems to be generally agreed that the Mediterranean diet is pretty damn healthy:

Eat less, move more and cut out the crap. No rocket science involved.

Thanks. I meant I am not a fussy eater and have no dietary restrictions by my anything and everything.

Yeah the Mediterranean diet seems to be the way to go.

I have already cut out the crap although do still have some as a treat.

Gotcha. Yeah, definitely, you have to have some pleasures, otherwise what's the point. I LOVE sweet stuff - chocolates, cake, anything really - but have them in moderation now so that they really do feel like a treat.

Simples:

Be more active

Drink at least 2 litres of water or very dilute squash a day. Tea, coffee, wine, fizzy drinks don't count as water.

Eat 3 or 4 light meals a day.

Don't eat between meals. If you are hungry, have some fruit or drink water. And choose whole-grain, oats, rice etc instead of white bread and pasta.

Eat whatever you want, but make sure it is balanced.

I have replaced chocolate cake biscuits etc with fruit. Still sweet but healthy and I definitely agree with MarkyD about the water. I always lose weight if I drink plenty and my skin feels better too.
