A well-balanced diet, basically. And stop eating 'anything and everything'. It seems to be generally agreed that the Mediterranean diet is pretty damn healthy:

Eat less, move more and cut out the crap. No rocket science involved.

I have already cut out the crap although do still have some as a treat.
For me it is Wotsits.
Simples:
Be more active
Drink at least 2 litres of water or very dilute squash a day. Tea, coffee, wine, fizzy drinks don't count as water.
Eat 3 or 4 light meals a day.
Don't eat between meals. If you are hungry, have some fruit or drink water. And choose whole-grain, oats, rice etc instead of white bread and pasta.
Eat whatever you want, but make sure it is balanced.
I have replaced chocolate cake biscuits etc with fruit. Still sweet but healthy and I definitely agree with MarkyD about the water. I always lose weight if I drink plenty and my skin feels better too.
