I have had lots of fun this past few days, ( after my early morning runs of course), when, in the heat of the afternoon. I have spent far too much time catching up with folks' running adventures.. a great deal of the swapping of hot weather tips and ideas are abounding!
Our brilliant Realfoodieclub has been giving us truly excellent advice and information on being safe and staying well during this unusually hot weather ( UK wise). Everyone should take note
But... as ever, and because many of us are feeling the heat...quite literally, I could not resist a snippet or two... in the style of our lovely Irishprincess ..
The last link has my vote. I'm not convinced by the ice pack in the undies suggestion never mind the menfolk! I tried putting my sheets in the freezer last night in a bid to get a good nights sleep but I got so hot and bothered putting them back on the bed it totally defeated the object of the exercise ππ
This forum is definitely a good excuse for not getting on with the job in hand π
Some good tips there floss. Frozen bananas! Yum! Not sure about ice down my pants though. Surely everything would go numb!
Camels are cute looking but when I was a child I got up really close to one in a zoo and just as I was thinking how lovely she was she spat in my face! Terrified me and I've never quite trusted them since. And what about those spiders? π§π§π§
Yes, I got out today, as need to keep VitD levels up, but try and watch the UV levels with the skin, so had sun cap and moisturiser spf15 on face and blocker on lips, it was 20deg as I started running in the shade along a tree lined cycle path then 25mins later out in the sun for a bit and it must have risen to 26deg. I finished in a melted state, but kept hydrated with my bottle belt, so felt pretty good.
Then back to cleaning my front drive, luckily it dulled over, but still warm work, better tomorrow morning when I use the pressure washer, so staying nice & cool, no need for ice down the pants flossπ
How very dare they !!! I had my photo taken with a camel in Tunisia . I had to put a big piece of fruit in my mouth and the camel came up and took it out of my mouth with their mouth . It was like locking lips with a sink plunger . Ha ha , I must've been mad ! xxx
Crumbs - I laughed out loud at the last link. That's been me for a year now, and nothing to do with running..... So when I've bought my real graduate badge and the t-shirt, it'll be next on the list. Beats sitting on the back door step every half hour!
