Here are some that like to run...They run for fun in the hot, hot sun,

As Dr Seuss once said....

I have had lots of fun this past few days, ( after my early morning runs of course), when, in the heat of the afternoon. I have spent far too much time catching up with folks' running adventures.. a great deal of the swapping of hot weather tips and ideas are abounding!

Our brilliant Realfoodieclub has been giving us truly excellent advice and information on being safe and staying well during this unusually hot weather ( UK wise). Everyone should take note :)

But... as ever, and because many of us are feeling the heat...quite literally, I could not resist a snippet or two... in the style of our lovely Irishprincess ..

Here are a few make you smile maybe?

Sound advice...

One for our amazingly wonderful gadget Guru yatesco

Some interesting ideas here... apparently you can buy ice vests????

I am not sure whether the ice pack next to the nether regions, is going to catch on with our chaps, but one never knows...:)

And.. definitely one for the ladies... whether this refers to our physical attributes or our high colour... I'm uncertain!

  • The last link has my vote. I'm not convinced by the ice pack in the undies suggestion never mind the menfolk! I tried putting my sheets in the freezer last night in a bid to get a good nights sleep but I got so hot and bothered putting them back on the bed it totally defeated the object of the exercise ๐Ÿ˜€๐Ÿ˜€

This forum is definitely a good excuse for not getting on with the job in hand ๐Ÿ˜‡

  • You are so many interesting things...the hot water bottle with iced water, between the sheets, maybe๐Ÿ˜

  • Ps. Please tell me you didn't spot that camel when you were out this morning !๐Ÿ˜€

  • โ˜บ No..but..I did see Llamas last week whilst on a run from the tin tent.๐Ÿ˜

  • I love llamas! I went on a trek with them in Norfolk earlier this year. They are very gentle and have lovely soft coats.

  • Didn't you do a post about that...??? It sounds really lovely. :)

I am a bit afraid to touch them... they look at me, oddly.. maybe it is my weird purple leggings??:)

  • No. That was before I started c25k. I wanted to bring them home with me but my gardens not big enough. ๐Ÿ˜ž

  • Oh dear..I feel the same about having an elephant..but that is a whole other story!โ˜บ

  • What a lovely idea ๐Ÿ˜€๐Ÿ˜€ my hubby wants to know my the alpacas were wearing purple leggings ?! ๐Ÿ™„

  • purple leggings tell him..I do look odd..but I don't mind๐Ÿ˜

  • My Humps, my humps, my humps , Ha ha ! :-D

Oh I love camels, their eyelashes are to die for and those lovely little ears , Sigh :-)

Some good tips there Floss, ta xxx

  • i never noticed their ears.. :) You're right...and they can run fast too... :)

  • You do make me laugh poppy ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚ x

  • Ha ha ! :-D xxx

  • Some good tips there floss. Frozen bananas! Yum! Not sure about ice down my pants though. Surely everything would go numb!

Camels are cute looking but when I was a child I got up really close to one in a zoo and just as I was thinking how lovely she was she spat in my face! Terrified me and I've never quite trusted them since. And what about those spiders? ๐Ÿ˜ง๐Ÿ˜ง๐Ÿ˜ง

  • One spat in my Dad's face in Egypt ... yuk! Not.. the ice down the underwear.. I am not sure how that would work.. we will have to as davelinks ??? :)

It was just a silly snippet.. but with the sensible bits added in.. thankfully. a tad cooler today.. only 25 here now! :)

  • Obviously spitting is their thing!

It's raining here and ONLY 19! Pity I ran yesterday because it's perfect running weather โ˜”๏ธ

  • We are a funny bunch aren't we... rain. snow, hail, wind and sun.. and we still get out there and really enjoy it... we just Rock!!!

If you saw a heat wave... would you wave back ?:)

    ( Not my joke) :)

  • Haha floss ๐Ÿ˜‚

  • Yes, I got out today, as need to keep VitD levels up, but try and watch the UV levels with the skin, so had sun cap and moisturiser spf15 on face and blocker on lips, it was 20deg as I started running in the shade along a tree lined cycle path then 25mins later out in the sun for a bit and it must have risen to 26deg. I finished in a melted state, but kept hydrated with my bottle belt, so felt pretty good.

Then back to cleaning my front drive, luckily it dulled over, but still warm work, better tomorrow morning when I use the pressure washer, so staying nice & cool, no need for ice down the pants floss๐Ÿ˜

  • Totally sensible man! Well done on the run too..whew. don' t think so either ๐Ÿ˜

  • How very dare they !!! I had my photo taken with a camel in Tunisia . I had to put a big piece of fruit in my mouth and the camel came up and took it out of my mouth with their mouth . It was like locking lips with a sink plunger . Ha ha , I must've been mad ! :-D xxx

  • Haha and yuk ๐Ÿ˜ xxx

  • There is no one like you PP.. you make me smile so much x

  • Ah that is so lovely of you , thank you my dear Floss xxx

  • Crumbs - I laughed out loud at the last link. That's been me for a year now, and nothing to do with running..... So when I've bought my real graduate badge and the t-shirt, it'll be next on the list. Beats sitting on the back door step every half hour!

  • Wonderful... I like the idea of Red Hot Chick!!! I have invented so many different shades of red since starting running! :)

  • Yeo I'm right there with you on that one. Although when I sit on the step I get licked by a Labrador, that's no help at all! ๐Ÿ˜Ž
