I prefer going for my runs(more of a jog as of now)early in the morning, but at times land up sleeping for barely few hours even though I try sleeping early at night. What should I do on such days? Should I still go for my runs or just grab some extra sleep ?

I have the same problem, but try to get out anyway. If I'm tired one day I'll probably sleep better the next night. I do go for an early morning walk on my non-running days though, for about the same length of time, so my body gets used to getting up at the same time every day. That way I also avoid the discussions in my head "please, just another half hour in bed! You're so tired! You can run tomorrow - you'll be much fitter!" If I've got to get up anyway, either for walk or run, the gremlins can't get at me that way. On weekends however I sleep longer and run at some point during the day.

Might sound silly but it helps me, I lay out everything I need to run in the morning so I can get up and get dressed without fumbling round for my running socks, shoes, t shirt etc. Might be something less to think about?
I agree wit Jaysee. Get up and go for your run and you will probably sleep better the following night as a result.
I had sleep problems pretty much all my life until I started doing a lot of exercise and also since I stopped drinking alcohol. Now I very seldom have difficulty getting to sleep or staying asleep.
Thank you! I will just make an effort and get out hence forth. It probably is all in the head.
