Did the 5k course in our local park this morning it took 56 mins, but I ran all the way didn't walk at all . Even jumped muddy puddles. So giving the park run a go Saturday. I've been told you can walk if you need to and it doesn't matter how long you take , so reassuring . Looking forward to it now ,

Park run here I come
They feel pretty friendly, I did 3 in my first go at running. I went at it way too hard though the first time and ended up gasping, a proper wreck at the end! Lots of people trying for PBs at my one I think and I was kind of swept away by the atmosphere...should have kept it steady. Best of luck.
Did my park run it wasn't like my practice on weds, it just seemed like hard work I completed the course was 4th from last at41minutes felt very embarrassed that it didn't go unnoticed with clapping and cheering, my daughter was going to run with me but she was chomping at the bit to go so I said I would be OK just run on and it was the like the whole field emptied with little old me jogging , I did pass a couple of people , doing the 2nd lap they were all getting there tokens, and I thought I will do this , and I did but can't help feeling rubbishy about it ,
Hey 41 mins sounds not too shabby at all for a newcomer - massive well done to you!!
Btw I got the clapping and cheering too, at first I thought it was out of sympathy cos I had worked myself into a bit of a lather by the finish but then I could see EVERYONE was getting the same treatment - 'you are going to get encouraged whether you like it, whether you need it - or not - you are going to get encouraged!'
