Turning 50 is no excuse!!! If you ran this morning, then you should have a rest day tomorrow, especially if your knee is giving you pain. Listening to your body is very important and ignoring the gremlins equally so.

Be careful.

Keep an open mind about why your knee is hurting too. The problem is probably caused by something else, like your feet/shoes. Don't just ignore it if it persists and hope it goes away.

Don't go tomorrow, have a day off and go the day after.

It's entirely doable, just take it gradually. Your knees will grumble but if you ease them into it, they'll get with the programme.

Congrats on your birthday. The prime of life is a great time to be running.

If your knee hurts, get it checked out - ignore real pain (as opposed to soreness) at your peril. I agree with all the above comments - always have a day of rest between two runs. Hope you had a lovely birthday!

Belated happy birthday! As everyone else has said, don't skip the rest days. If knee pain persists, get it checked out (but do be aware it might be down to something like old/worn trainers, as has been said). Maybe a late birthday treat is in order?
