I keep being told by more experienced members of this forum that it is not about speed - it is about steadily increasing your distance. So I determined to take that on board for W8R3 this morning. Only problem is that while I am still following the C25K programme the duration (in minutes) of my run is prescribed by the programme (ie 28 mins today). What to do?
On Tuesday I ran 5.5km in the 28 minutes so today I set out to run slightly further and tara! I managed it. I increased my distance to 5.65km in 28 mins.
So that's all good then...

Once you've done C25K isn't it about anything you want? Some people want to increase their speed over a short distance, others want to move on to greater distances. I'm really not worrying about either of these until I've actually finished C25K - right now I'm just looking to complete it, however quick or slow I am.
Well done and Astilla is wise in his words... We all have our own targets... Some speed and some length, some both. Essentially it's about personal achievement, enjoying yourself and feeling great....which clearly you are doing... Well done you that's a fantastic achievement... Carry on like this and you'll be beating Aftabs....
