cant get new forerunner 10 to work when connected to garmin connect

any ideas anyone - i have created a user account and it says to download communicator etc , which i keep doing then it doesnt go anywhere and just keeps saying I havent downloaded the software - so confusing!!

I had this problem after I upgraded the windows software on my laptop. I am on the horrid windows 8.

It can still be hit and miss but basically you will see a message at the bottom of the screen saying "internet explorer should be open on the desktop". Click on this (when you find it) and you can then proceed.

Unfortunately I cannot replicate the situation on my laptop right this moment even though I uploaded my morning run details an hour ago.

If I do find it exactly, i will email again. Regards frances

Hi again, just managed to replicate the message. Whilst the message "Garmin communicator plug in not found" is on your screen, refresh the screen where the web address is entered (normal connect.garmin.com/transfer/ upload) and the blue message Open Desktop came up. Click on it and you should get the screen to upload all new activities etc. hope this helps! xxx

I also had this after I downloaded the software , try this enter garmin connect in search engine on your computer , it will ask for your user name & password , register the device when prompt & with garmin connected to computer , then download activity & you should be ok I think

Thanks all -hubbie spent hours fiddling around on the computer and finally got it working after downloading chrome and restarting everything .

Wasn't a great run to record anyway (first time out after 2weeks break-only managed a embarrassing 15mins before staggering home without slipping over on the icy pavements) but wanted to get it working!!
