Wallace and Gromit's Grand Appeal

I don't know if you are aware but Bristol had a display of large Gromit statues decorated by artists and celebs dotted around the city and people could follow a trail to see them all. They attracted a lot of visitors and tonight they were auctioned off in aid of the Bristol Children's Hospital.

Around 90 statues raised an incredible £2,357,000 for the charity!!! I know this has nothing at all to do with C25k (although it did encourage people and kids to get out and about) but I'm so proud of Bristol!!

Cracking show lad!

I'm very sleepy this morning after watching the amazing auction last night, then too over excited to sleep! Absolutely loved all the Gromits, the trail really made my summer and what an astounding amount raised for the hospital! I'd love to know the final total once all the profilts from merchandise and the exhibition are totted up. Also patiently awaiting my copy of "The art of gromit unleashed" book... *drumming fingers (and running half marathons) to pass the time* :)
