I've just done W4R2 . Breathing hasn't ever been a problem, its my legs, they feel like lead. Any suggestions?
Are you going slowly enough? Are you wearing the right shoes for your feet and gait? Are you well-hydrated? Have you taken enough fuel on board? So many factors affect how we feel - I hope someone on here can offer some helpful suggestions rather than all my questions Hope you get it sorted.
Sorry but no firm answers from me either, but I know what it's like because mine were like that too. I have just graduated and noticed that as I progressed my legs have felt better. Not sure if it's about different muscles strengthening up or what but I am noticing a difference. I think working through Anniemurph's wee checklist sounds worth doing though -Mind you my legs are pretty solid!
Thanks for the tips. I don't think i'm going too fast - to be honest if i go any slower i'll be standing still. Perhaps i might treat myself to some new trainers and just plod on.
I wouldn't worry about it, it's just your running muscles building as the programme gets tougher
Are you sufficiently fueled when you set out? I don't mean a three course meal, but a banana half-an-hour or so before running, along with keeping your fluids up throughout the day may help.
Remember, if you feel thirsty you are already dehydrated.
I say all this having just had a bad run myself ~ uncooperative legs and feet that had a mind of their own ~ and all because I didn't drink before I went out ~ silly, silly me.
Join the club, my legs very often feel like lead, I am improving very slowly though.
