Ok so it was literally only just sub-30 minutes, at 29:59! And boy was it HARD. I'd had a really good, enjoyable run on Saturday where I decided to go for the 5k rather than the 30 minutes as I had been doing. Intent on doing the same again today, I set off on another new route where it was all flat but battling a strong sea breeze pretty much the whole time. Still, I put in an desperate extra spurt right at the end & somehow, miraculously, hit my 5k target, whoop whoop!

Happy with that, especially as I'd come straight from doing my free-weights induction at the gym 😮

Well done. I still have a bit to go. I ran a Parkrun on Saturday and got 31:04. I have a personal quest as well to get a sub 30 minute 5k. Very well done again to you and congratulations.

Ah you're not far off! I had a sudden change of pace on Saturday's run & thought I'd test myself today. I damn near stopped within the first couple of minutes though!

My first full-running 5k was the Race for Life last month & I managed it in 33:40 but it damn near killed me! I've not been doing 5ks since, but rather consolidating my 30 min runs with no idea really as to distance. I only put Strava on my phone recently & was pleasantly surprised to find I was able to run 5k on Saturday in just over 30 mins. I set myself a target then but really struggled to meet it today! It was HARD! Back to a more enjoyable run next time I think!

Do you start your strava when you are warming up and cooling down or just running?

Just for the running bit. ☺

Maybe I should do that. Make my times better. 🤔

For sure! Though if you're doing exactly 10 minutes of walking (5 mins either side) then that's easy enough to work out your run times, although Strava will break it down for you anyway won't it? It shows me all sorts of stuff I don't really need to know yet lol.

No! Where is it? x

Ah I just wondered from your reply if you recognised it lol. It's sunny (or not so) Eastbourne - this particular stretch is the quieter end of the seafront & a favourite spot for runners it seems!

So jelz - I'd love to live by the sea! x
