Week 4 my knees hurt, had running assessment and apparently ankles collapse when I land! So £90 poorer I have new supportive trainers. Now there's an incentive to run lol.

Oh dear, sorry to hear about your weak ankle :( and expensive remedy! But, rest assured you will soon see/feel it will have been the best money ever spent! A weak ankle can lead to fallen arch, then the foot tilt throws the knee out, next up the line the hip tries to compensate and eventually, when one leg isn't working properly, the other leg starts to compensate to re-balance the whole body!!!!! Honestly, you have done the right thing :) :)

Been there, done that: sore foot/ankle, painful knee, hip twinges ... customised, expensive shoes ..... and a few weeks later, happy body and C25K graduation!
