There really is no predictable road ahead for any of us :-) whether or not we have copd. we just need to take things one day at a time and try not to get hit by a bus. Makes me wonder though how many people make it to old age in perfect health? No cancer, diabetes, obesity, mental illness, heart disease, alcoholism, etc etc.

That id so true Olive,my dad died at 73 through a mistake in surgery. My mum had a radical breast removal at 49, at 50 a lump removed from her other breast,at 52 a lump removed from a mustle near the base of her spine and very early radiotherapy. She lived to be 97 years although 87 would have been better ,before the dementia kicked in. My brother who had an amazing life knighted, fellow of the Royal Society and so many honors to list. Multi millionaire, while i was a humble social worker he rang me one Sunday evening to ask advice about 'a funny do' He died 9 months later from a brain tumor . I said to my wife last week when I had coughed for 2 hours, John would have swapped places.

My mothers surgeon used to say to her "I will pay you to stay in my waiting room and tell your story"
