hi I am a 35 year old female and generally very healthy.
the last 2 days I have noticed some bright red blood on the outside of my stool, not a lot just a couple of small specks. It is not mixed in with the stool and the stool is normal consistency amd colour. I am not suffering from abdominal pain but am so anxious that it could be colon cancer. I know no one can diagnosis on here but would be grateful if people’s thoughts.

I’m not a doctor, but I would say malignancy isn’t as common as things like haemorrhoids, which cause bleeding like you describe. However, for complete peace of mind, I’d see a GP - they can do a history/examination and maybe a qFIT. No point worrying and getting stressed - make an appointment. Even in the worst case scenarios, early detection is always the best way for a successful outcome.
Yes I will get it checked out. I do not have any family history of cancer and don’t have any other concerning symptoms but was just very shocked when I noticed the bright red blood on the stool.
Thanks for posting with us. It's always good to not ignore symptoms. Any time there may be or is blood in the stool, it needs to get checked out. It could be caused by many different things, but it is something you need to find out what could be causing it. The anxious is coming from having to speculate about it. There are several tests you could take to begin with and some you can do from home. First, determine if it is indeed blood. A test can be given at your doctor to find out, or something like Cologuard could be done from home.
I'm glad to see you are not having pain associated with it. Another thing to know is if there are any hereditary health issues that run in your family. This is good to know as it could lead to other tests that can be very beneficial to you and your family.
I do wish you the best in finding out what's causing these symptoms. Remember, it could be from a lot of different things and you just need to narrow it down so you can focus on getting back to being on a healthy path.
Also, please let us know what you find out. Testing and results are the types of information that can be very helpful to others on this site as well.
Thank you,
