Hi jaspe2t,
Thank you for posting with us. I hate you’re having to go through all this. How long have you been on this proton pump inhibitor two times a day? Has it been long enough for you to realize that this may not be the answer? It sounds like you have a lot of unsolved symptoms and you haven’t gotten a good answer for them. It is good that your ultrasound came back normal but is this the only test you were given? Did they do some blood work or other tests they can determine what’s going on in your stomach? Was it mentioned perhaps getting an endoscopy? I would just think that if the medicine proton pump inhibitor isn’t showing symptoms getting better for you, I would return with that information to your doctor and see what the next steps can be.
I know anxiety is a real thing and it is also driven when you’re not seeing benefits from a path you’ve been put on. If I were you, I’d focus on seeing if you can adjust that path and hopefully get on a one that will lead you to being well. Your doctor should have some idea as to next steps in the process. A CT scan may give you some information that you don’t have now that could be beneficial. That would be a good question for your doctor. Perhaps even an endoscopy would be a good way to go to get into the stomach and see exactly what’s going on. There are definitely other tests and procedures that can get you some further information. It’s just a matter of which ones your doctor would feel would benefit you. There is always the possibility of seeking a second opinion from a different doctor.
Another thing to think about is if there are any hereditary medical issues within your family. This type of information is good for your doctor to have as well. That may lead to some different tests that could be beneficial.
I do wish you the best in finding out what’s going on. I hope that happens quickly for you as I know you are not experiencing the benefits expected from the current therapy. Perhaps it’s time to start a different therapy. If you know that the proton pump inhibitor that you’ve been using is definitely not showing any benefit, I would get back with your doctor and see what the next steps would be. Or get back with a different doctor?🤔 Either way, keep seeking those answers until you get them.👍❤️💪
