Bleeding and mucus, I’m so scared.

I’ve been bleeding from my rectum off and on for months. I know I have hemorrhoids because they flare up sometimes. Recently I’ve been having blood stained bowels and some small clots with bleeding when I strain. Went to the doctor today and he did an exam. Said he sees internal hemorrhoids and thinks that’s why I’m bleeding but also saw a decent amount of mucus so wants me to have a colonoscopy. I’m soooo worried I’ve been crying my eyes out all day. I’m 32 with 3 small kids and I’m terrified it’s something serious. What does this sound like to you guys?

Also, I do have some abdominal “cramping” off and on but nothing crazy. My bowels have been looser than normal the past week or so.

Any advice would be great!

I’ve been dealing with on and off bleeding for 3-4 years. With blood clots and all. Received colonoscopy and mri said it wasn’t anything malignant. What worked for me was Fiber, fiber prevents me from straining and therefore prevents me from bleeding. Try lots of fiber like Metamucil right after you eat something. Bet that works. Along with lots of water and diet change. Also some exercise. Best of luck.

was the bleeding on the toilet paper, or INSIDE the stool or ON the stool or was it just dripped in the potty and changed the water color? I am understanding the more I read everything online that where the blood "lands" that is what is important.

so I’ve noticed it mostly on the stool. Drips out sometimes after I push hard( not taking fiber). I’ve bled a week straight after every bowl movement. I’ve bled so much I went to ER and they told me it was from hemorrhoids. I got everything you can get done and chalked it up to hemorrhoids.
